Dear clients and friends,

I hope this email finds you, your family, and all your friends, in amazing health and in a celebratory mood! This winter month of December gives us many opportunities to celebrate, as it hosts both Christian and Jewish holidays, as well as the New Year celebrations!

Interestingly, something special happened this year. This week, the first night of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah took place on December 25th. This coincidence has only happened four times in the past 114 years (in 1910, 1921, 1959, and 2005) and if I were to explain how this happened, I would have to talk about how the Jewish lunar calendar interacts with the Western solar calendar, and how leap years affect them both, and to fully answer these questions, this letter would be several pages long!

What is important, is to recognize that although these holidays are celebrated by two different religions, they share the same goals, and these are to bring moral and spiritual light, peace, and love to one another and to the entire world!

Moreover, this year, the seventh night of Hanukkah takes place on New Year’s Eve. As we gather to “ring in” the New Year with a toast and a song, it’s neat to note that the seventh day’s candle lighting ceremony traditionally honors the important role of women in our lives. On this day, we recognize the women in our lives, and thank them for their
amazing contributions!

And then, on New Year’s Day, we celebrate the eighth and final night of Hanukkah. This night is the capstone for the “miracle of the oil” which, according to tradition, occurred during the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem in 164 BCE. At that time, the ancient Israelites revolted against the occupiers of the Temple, and found just a tiny amount of oil which miraculously kept the Temple’s Menorah lamp lit for eight days!

And so, as you can see, this is a busy and wonderful month, full of celebrations! In this spirit, all of us here at Weinstein Construction, thank you for your friendship and fellowship, and wish you happy holidays and a fantastic 2025 to come!
