Dear clients and friends:

I trust this letter finds you, your family, and all of your friends, in great spirits and in terrific health!  We have all arrived at the end of what has certainly been a challenging year, but also one of promise.  This was the year when we finally pulled through the COVID-19 pandemic and for the most part, got our old lives back!

As we celebrate New Year’s Eve, many of us will bid farewell to 2023 by singing the popular song, “Auld Lang Syne”.  This sentimental tune is not an easy one to sing and if you’re like me, you probably have asked yourself what do its words actually mean?

This expressive song is actually an 18th century poem by the great Scottish poet, Robert Burns.  The song’s name translates from Scots language to modern English as “Old Long Since”, and it describes a conversation between old friends, as they catch-up together after a long time being apart.  Its verses are about remembering the past, mourning those close to us who have passed away, and sharing a goodwill drink and “cup of kindness” in hopes of a better future next year.  You can listen to it now by clicking here.

I hope as you hear this song play in just a couple of days, you will remember the good times you had in 2023 with your family and friends, and forget any hardships you may have experienced.  Next year will surely be even better for us all!

And in that spirit, I want to share with you a bit of good news that our state government has asked me to pass along to my clients.  This is about the “Earthquake Brace + Bolt” (“EBB”) program, which provides homeowners with substantial free money grants to subsidize their cost of seismically-retrofitting their home against earthquake damage.  The EBB program will open again on January 10, 2024 across hundreds of ZIP codes in greater Los Angeles – you can click here to see if your ZIP code was selected!

Please consider protecting your home from earthquakes and pass along this message to your friends and loved ones!  Who doesn’t like a bit of free government money for the holidays!  From all of us here at Weinstein Construction, thank you for your friendship and fellowship, and we wish you all a Happy New Year and a wonderful 2024!
