New Year 2026

Dear clients and friends,

As always, I hope this letter finds you and yours happy, healthy, and in a great mood to celebrate the holiday season and the New Year!  Here we are again in that rare moment in time when several traditions that are distinct, and yet incredibly aligned in spirit, overlap on our calendars.  Christmas, Hanukkah, and the New Year invite us to pause, reflect, and then look forward.

Throughout history, this holiday season has been associated with light.  Hanukkah candles are lit, Christmas lights shine, New Year celebrations brighten our lives, and we embrace traditions that celebrate warmth and hope during the cold winter months.  Unity does not require uniformity, and our diverse traditions coexist harmoniously!

Interestingly, while our modern Gregorian calendar shows the upcoming year as 2026, the corresponding Jewish year is 5786.  This is because the Hebrew calendar counts years from the creation of the first man and woman, Adam and Eve.  According to the Jewish bible, the Torah, from those two individuals, all of the people in the world descend.

We do not live in isolation.  What carries us forward are shared values, faith, and the trust and support of our families, friends, and trusted advisors.  These connections remind us that progress is rarely sudden, and that meaningful lives are built gradually, one thoughtful interaction at a time, even when the path forward isn’t fully visible.  It is in these steady, thoughtful moments that the foundations of community are built.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we hope to do so with humility and optimism, despite our hardships.  Let’s all recommit to respecting one another and our differences, communicating honestly, cooperating thoughtfully, and expressing gratitude for our continued health, resilience, and the moments of connection we share.

As candles are lit, trees are trimmed, and calendars turn, from all of us here, we hope you find warmth with loved ones, peace of mind, generosity of spirit, and renewed optimism and purpose.  Please know that we are here for you and truly value sharing this journey!
